Hypertrichosis is a birth defect, but a lesser form could sometimes be caused by a side effect of certain medicines. This form of Hypertrichosis is more dull and hair follicles are not as numerous. Though it is typically a birth-related disease, cerebral damage, head injury, and a few other causes have been traced to Hypertrichosis.
Effect/Symptoms
Excessive hair is grown when one has Hypertrichosis. It is typically the only symptom. The disease is not life-threatening.
